One of the worst rail accidents in independent India's history, the three-train collision in Odisha that killed 275 people and injured 803 others has brought attention back to the national transporter's lack of safety. The majority of these accidents involving goods trains did not result in fatalities.

At the site and at nearby hospitals, people were seen looking for relatives.
